Cylinder stud high tensile, MRB The original cylinder studs are not suitable for several reasons - they are not very strong and they are not long enough to suit various configurations of pack plates and shortened cylinders.
For a time we used Vespa P200 studs but they still weren't quite right so we had these studs made from high tensile steel.
The casing end is threaded so that that stud will fit well into the casing and the head end is threaded to give some flexibility with pack plates and shortened cylinders.
Used on a standard cylinder there is plenty of thread exposed which allows the use of our 3/4 length cylinder head nuts which secure your head better by having much more thread than a standard nut.
A product used and designed by Mark Broadhurst
Cylinder head stud kit (studs, extended nuts, thick washers) MRB This is a set of MB Developments 4 thick cylinder head washers, three special cylinder head nuts and one extended cylinder head nut for the cowling.
It also contains four of our high tensile remade cylinder studs, which are longer than normal and have more thread to suit shortened barrels and pack plates.
There is nothing better on the market, Mark Broadhurst has designed and tested them over many years.
These studs do not stretch and if assembled correctly the head nuts stay tight.
Torque the nuts down to 18 - 20 lbs ft.
Re-tighten the nuts at 500 - 1000 miles from a new rebuild.

Cylinder head 3/4 length nut, MRB Another excellent idea from MBD, made specially to work in conjunction with our longer high tensile cylinder studs.
They are just over three times the height of a normal plain nut so you can see how much more thread there is to hold your cylinder head in place.
Cylinder head distance nut, MRB We have had these nuts remade and zinc plated.
It is the one that fixes your cylinder head on, then the bolt that holds your head cowl goes into it from the other end.
More surface area on the threads and ideal to go with our MBD high tensile studs.
